Mr. Afioluwa Mogaji
Food Security Strategist | Agribusiness Turnaround Expert | Youth Prosperity Champion
More than two decades ago, he legally adopted the name Africanfarmer, reflecting a lifelong commitment to agriculture, food security, and national development. Today, Africanfarmer Mogaji has overcome many adversities to become one of Nigeria’s leading voices on food security, agribusiness transformation, and youth economic empowerment.
With over three decades of experience spanning agribusiness development, production, processing, policy advocacy, enterprise development, and media engagement, he is widely recognized as a trusted food security analyst, solution provider, and advisor to policymakers, business leaders, investors, and development organizations.
Known for his remarkably accurate forecasts of trends and developments within Nigeria’s agricultural sector, Africanfarmer has become a respected authority on food security, agribusiness, and rural economic development. He is a regular analyst on Channels Television, TVC News, Arise News, and other leading media platforms, where he translates complex challenges into practical solutions.
In 2025, Africanfarmer played a significant voluntary advisory role to the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security in addressing challenges within Nigeria’s tomato value chain. His contributions to productivity enhancement, post-harvest loss reduction, and stakeholder coordination supported efforts that prevented the usual May–July tomato scarcity and helped break a 26-year cycle of seasonal shortages.
An Ashoka Fellow, IVLP Fellow, Cochran Fellow, graduate of the Agribusiness Management Program of Lagos Business School, and Founder of the AgricBusiness Empowerment Initiative (AEI), a non-profit organization dedicated to developing youth capacity across agribusiness value chains, he has served in several leadership roles, including Chairman of the Agriculture and Agro-Allied Group of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
Passionate about youth prosperity, Africanfarmer is committed to building bridges between government and the private sector to help young Nigerians convert food challenges into economic opportunities. At a time of economic reform and national transition, he continues to champion collaborative solutions that strengthen food security, restore hope, create sustainable livelihoods, and position agriculture as a catalyst for Nigeria’s future prosperity.
